About MF Writing
About Me
MF Writing is owned and run by me, Melissa Fulks. I have been writing all my life, but after graduating with my Bachelor’s from Arizona State University, I wanted to do this as a career. From there, I continued my education at the University of Denver and received a Master’s in Creative Writing. Currently, I am studying for my second Master’s of Arts, but with a focus on Professional Writing.
Leadership Roles
I have led many teams, including the content writers and scriptwriter teams at Ferry Godmother Productions. My strong writing, editing, and organization skills promoted me to Vice President of Communications in March 2024.
I am one of two Researcher Leads on the Animal Crossing fan site animalcrossingcommunity.com. In that role, I oversee a team of up to 10 researchers at a time. We create and revise game guides, plan and host site-wide events, and produce a regular newsletter every three months. In that position, I have contributed to working on 170+ video game guides.
Writing and Editing Experience
I have been writing professionally for over ten years. My work includes fictional novels, short stories, non-fiction guides, and blog posts. I have experience editing for high school students, college graduates, and adults.
My primary interest in non-fiction writing is gaming, but I am open to various topics, including, but not limited to, art, business, health, and more. MFG Gaming (MFGG) is my gaming blog, where I write about current events, gaming articles, tips, guides, and more.
